below are rally sites for some well known Australian and international
events. Rally events included range from non-competitive touring events to
the FIA WRC events. Clicking on the 'logo' for an
event will take you to its web site, whilst clicking on the
hyperlinks (ie the blue event name) will take you
to pages on this site that provide reviews or news of these
events.

Targa
Tasmania. Provides
complete details of recent events and full details of this year's event.
The original Tarmac Rally in Australia, commenced in
1992. Probably the best
tarmac rally of its type in the world. |

Targa New
Zealand. Targa NZ is conducted at the end
of October/early November each year. The Targa NZ site
carries the results of the event and links to other sites of interest. Club members
have participated in this event. |

Classic
Adelaide.
The site carries details of the event and the latest news for this classic tarmac
rally. The event which commenced in 1997 is
conducted on or around the third week in November each year. Similar to Targa Tasmania
but excludes modern (ie post 1992) vehicles from the
competition section. |

Rally
Tasmania/Heritage Rally The site of what is generally
regarded as the best value for money special stage rally in Australia
- founded by Tony Wright and conducted in February each year. From February
2008 the event will be conducted by Les Walkden and MSR Corporate. |

1st Rallye Burnie
Following demands from competitors in Rally Tasmania, event
organiser Tony Wright created a two day event in North West Tasmania.
2004 was the inaugural year. Now also conducted by Les Walkden, the
event is conducted in September each year. |

Targa West
Conducted in WA near Perth the event is a special stage rally conducted with
a prologue and three days of competition with over 30 special stages in
early September each year. The event was first conducted in 2005 |

Suncoast Classic
Rally Conducted by the organisers of
Classic Adelaide the event commenced in 2006. Conducted over 4 days
with a prologue the event is based in Noosa in Queensland and conducted. |

Mt Buller Sprint
Taking advantage of the spectacular approach road to Mt Buller this event
commenced in 2004 to much acclaim by utilising the road as a closed stage.
The event is conducted by Mountain Motorsports in early November each year.. |

Lake Mountain Sprint
Similar in concept to the Mt Buller Sprint utlising
the 10km approach road as a special stage. The event is conducted by
Mountain Motorsports in February of each year and the inaugural event was
conducted in May 2005. |

Thredbo Sprint
Conducted by Mountain Motorsports in the NSW Alps the inaugural event is to
be conducted in May, 2008.
The Thredbo Sprint is a 15km stage that starts at Tom Groggin
,on the Alpine Way, down into Leatherbarrel Creek picnic area with a climb
to the finish line at Dead Horse Gap. |

Grand Prix
Rally The GP Rally now managed by Mountain
Motorsports following on from Octagon Motorsports. The
inaugural event was conducted in 1987 and rose to prominence as a great way
to get to the F1 GP in Adelaide. Primarily a
touring event with driving tests and circuit work, the
event is reverting to the original route, but in reverse. Starting in
Adelaide the event commences on the Sunday prior to the AGP. |

Dutton Rally
Conducted in both VIC, NSW and WA the Dutton Rally focus is on driver
performance tests and track times at circuits - there is no navigation. |

East
Coast Classic The event is no longer in
operation. Initially it was called East Coast Targa
conducted its inaugural event in 2000
and despite some initial problems
continuedto grow in stature. Features closed road stages
and time at the Bathurst and Eastern Creek circuits. |

Gold
Coast Tourist Trophy. This event never
got beyond the planning stages, but certainly aroused competitor interest.
The event was planned to be in the style of Targa Tasmania and Classic
Adelaide and its place seems to have been taken by the Suncoast Classic and
unrelated event. |

The
Winter Classic Rally. The Ballarat
Light Car Club (BLCC) are the promoters of this event
held on the Queen's Birthday weekend each year. Results of past
rallies and news of the next event. |

Historic
Rally Association (HRA). This is the club site, but it provides
details of forthcoming rallies held in Victoria which it organises, eg
South West Classic Rally, The Bordeaux Rally. Focus is
on dirt rallies, but tarmac events are conducted. |

Autosports is responsible for a
number of events of interest to members: Tour
T'Adelaide (now called Clipsal 500 Adelaide Rally), Tour De Course
(ceased operation), The Indy Rally and The

Miglia in Italy an annual retrospective of this once great event after
which the California Mille and the MELBOURNE
MILLE have been styled. |
