If you would like to know more about the type of

on this site or go directly to the listing of 'types
of event' on that page.
Membership of the Club is open to anyone who is interested
in the activities and events promoted and organised by the Club.. Whilst the objects
of the Club are to foster and promote ownership of Maserati, you do not have to own a
Maserati to join. Only about 40% of the membership own a Maserati.
Members of the Club come from all age groups and many
different walks of life. They share a common interest in marque cars. Whether
it be just talking about them with like-minded people at Club social events, restoring
them, or using them more actively at Club track days or in competitive motor sport
events. Typically owners of Alfa Romeo, Aston Martin, Austin Healey, Bentley,
Bugatti, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, MG, OSCA and Porsche ... old and new ... are
members of the Club. The most predominant makes being Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati
and Porsche.
The Club is a non-profit organisation which is incorporated
under the Associations Incorporation Act, 1981 in the State of Victoria. Its affairs
and activities are managed by a Committee elected annually, by postal ballot, by the
members. A copy of the Rules of the Club can be downloaded
from this site.
Whilst many car clubs have regular meetings of their
membership, this Club has only one formal meeting ... the Annual General Meeting ... which
is required by law. The Committee of the Club meets on a monthly basis to plan the
activities and manage the affairs of the Club. Members get together by participating
in the wide range of "social" and "track" events held throughout the
year. The Club Calendar describes the type of events
organised by the Club and provides specific dates on which these events will be held.
The Club is a voting member of CAMS, (the
Confederation of Australian Motor Sport) which is the governing body for motorsport in
Australia. CAMS is a member of the FIA. Membership of a CAMS affiliated club is the
first step you have to take if you want to become involved in competitive motorsport in
Australia.
The Club is also a member of the Association of Motoring
Clubs, the body with which most Australian motoring clubs are associated. The AOMC
is responsible for administering the Club Permit scheme, which provides a means for
keeping older and historic cars on the road and participating in club
"fun" runs. Details of the Club
Permit scheme can be downloaded from this site.
The most important benefit you derive from membership of
the Club is the opportunity to meet with others who share your interests at Club social
functions and join with others in using your car, in the manner it was intended, at Club
track days and the wide range of more competitive events the Club promotes. On
joining the club, you receive:
- a non-transferable membership card
- a copy of the Club Rules
- a 'member' decal for
your car
- a CAMS Competition Licence (if you require it) so that you
can use your car on the track, tarmac rallies or other forms of motor sport
- the cost of which you pay directly to CAMS
- a regular 'e-mail'
newsletter, which provides Entry Forms to
Club and other events and a calendar advising you of what's coming up
- a hard copy of each booking slips and entry forms for club events are
also provided by mail.
Most of all, we hope you derive a great deal of pleasure
from your membership!
A link to the Calendar of Events can be found on the
Calendar page of this site. This page also lists the 'types
of events conducted by the club. The Calendar of Events lists for each month of the
calendar year a range of events organised by the Maserati Club of Australia, other CAMS
affiliated clubs and other organisations. The calendar also includes the dates of
major international motor racing events. A link to a listing of only those events
organised by the Maserati Club of Australia is also on this page.
