Utilising the frame of the A6 and an engine based on the A6GCS/53 but modified for touring, rather than racing, the car was nonetheless used for that purpose.  Zagato built a total of 20 competition coupes which were used with success in many road events. A total of 60 cars with this specification were built with most intended for normal road use.
