The Tipo A6G 2000 Berlinetta or 'Streamliner'
was the forerunner of the Tipo A6GCS which made its debut on the Maranello
test tracks on September 26, 1947. Prior to this in May it had been
planned for Villoresi to debut the 2000 cc enlarged A6 1500 motor in the
one-off Berlinetta or streamline body shell at the Piancenza race on May 11,
1947 at which Franco Cortese debuted the Ferrari 125S, but the car did not
start. The car however
did start in the 1947 Mille Miglia and in the Varese Circuit race driven on
both occasions by Villoresi.
