Notes
Released on the day
following the release of the 3200GT Assetto Corsa
but at the Geneva Motor Show 2001, the barchetta 320S was
hailed as a signal that Maserati intends to return to racing. The
320S is proposed for the development of a single-marque customer racing
program similar to that of the Barchetta and the Ghibli 'Open' Cup.
Although still at a development stage it is perhaps indicative of the
3200GT Spider with its shorter wheelbase. The colour scheme of white
with blue stripes is evocative of the Briggs Cunningham cars that ran so
successfully in the US in the late 50's and early 60's in the USA.
