Brief History:
In 1932 when the 4 cylinder 1100 and 1500 cc engines began to show so much promise work began on two engines, one a 2000 cc with a stroke of 98 mm and the 2500 cc with a stroke of 112 mm.  The cylinder block of the 2500 cc with its fixed heads and thus fused in sets of two was extracted from the 2000 cc by a simple increase in bore - from 80 mm to 84 mm. Only one version (No. 2011) of the 2000 cc was built on a standard 4CM frame in 1933.  It made its debut at the hands of Campari in the Coppa Ciano race of 1933.
