Notes
Originally identified as just the 'Tipo 4C' and
then the 'Tipo 4CTR" - the 'C' for 'corsa' or 'racing' and the 'TR' for
'testa riporta' or removable cylinder head - the car made its debut at Monza
in racing version in 1931. The 'Tipo 4CM' following that debut became
the race version and the 'Tipo 4CS 1100' the sports version for events such
as the Mille Miglia which it won four times in record times involving
drivers such as Tuffanelli (1932) and Taruffi (1934) and Ettore Bianco in
1935 and 1936. Some photographs of the Moris Bergamini car of this period
are shown below. A brilliant "one-off' production prototype in the form
of a yellow spyder was built by Brianza bodyworks and presented at the Milan
Auto Show in 1932.
