| Alfieri saw the new four cylinder as the successor to the Type 26 which had now been outlived. Under the technical guidance of Ernesto the new 1500 adopted the same bore and stoke used in the 8-cylinder, 3 litre car. Due to its similarities to the 1100, the new car took advantage of its development, including the adoption of hydraulic brakes in 1935. With an increasing number of customers, the bodies of customer cars were made by others such as Campari, Sorniotto or Menarini.
