Brief History:
Apart from the very substantial cosmetic changes made to the car, relative to the 420i, the 430 carried significant improvements in the chassis. There was a new front end with 'active mechanical' steering system including a new stabiliser bar, the adoption of self vented discs and floating front calipers and the new Ranger differential which was a further refinement of the Sensitork system.  It was offered with an optional sunroof and automatic transmission. From 1991 a new variant the 430 4V. which featured 4 valves per cylinder and a range of other changes including rear suspension, however the 3 valve version was kept in production..
