This car (Chassis #678) is one of two prototypes produced by Vignale prior to the development of the final production version.  A photograph of the car can be found on page 97 of the book "Maserati Road Cars.  The postwar production cars 1946 to 1979" by Richard Crump and Rob de la Rive Box, published by Osprey Publishing Limited in 1979.

As is explained in a four-part series that appears on this site in "Restoration Corner", the car was found in Texas, USA and brought to Australia for restoration.  Finished in midnight blue and cherry red connolly hides and matching quality carpet the car has been fastidiously restored by Mario Lombardi.   Further photographs of the car appear in the fourth part of the vehicles restoration story and in the 3500GT Spyder Gallery in the Maserati Road Cars Gallery on this site.
