Since the last
newsletter in early October, there have been substantial changes in the business and
marketing arrangements for Maserati in Australia.
Since November 1, 1998 Maranello Imports (the Australian
distributor for Ferrari) have been responsible for the national distribution of Maserati
in Australia. They have taken over the role previously handled by Tony Graziani who
operated under the name of House of Maserati & Alfa Romeo in Sydney.
In New South Wales, Maranello Imports have as from November
1, 1998 appointed Toni Graziani's organisation as the sole Maserati dealer for NSW and not
as suggested in the last newsletter Scuderia Veloce.. The new Graziani dealership is now
operating under the new business name of Modena Concessionaires.
In Victoria, Lance Dixon as previously advised has taken on
the dealership for Victoria. Although the club has yet to receive a copy of the press
release, we expect to see Maserati in a Lance Dixon showroom in Richmond in the near
future. I understand that the new Victorian dealership has much planned in the period
leading up to the Grand Prix. Do not be surprised to see insuperable personage of Stirling
Moss associated with some of the more interesting promotions surrounding this exciting new
car. In fact, don't be surprised if you get an invitation!
To add more grist to the mill, I understand from those 'in
the know' that the Maserati 3200GT may well be one of the star attractions at the
forthcoming International Motor Show in March. |
