Maranello Imports Media Release, May 7, 1999

Maranello Imports Pty. Limited, the Australian distributors for Maserati, has finalised their last stage of Maserati S.p.A.=s two year worldwide restructuring of the famous Italian marque. The bringing together of the strongest and most experienced dealer network in luxury vehicles has now been completed, with the Maserati Trident proudly attached to beautiful facilities throughout Australia.

Since Ferrari took control of Maserati in July 1997, the President of Ferrari, Mr. Luca di Montezemolo has invested large amounts of capital and expertise restructuring the entire Maserati organisation. After spending US$200 million rebuilding the Modena factory, the Maserati international importer network was restructured using the existing Ferrari importer wherever possible. In Australia, this occurred late in 1998, with Maranello Imports Pty. Limited proudly taking over distribution.

With this in mind, it was also feasible wherever possible to use the existing Ferrari dealer network to retail the new range of Maserati=s. This enabled Maserati=s to be sold and serviced through the most experienced dealer network of luxury cars in Australia. This dealer network are housed in state-of-the-art facilities, some of which have just opened and could be classed as the best looking facilities in Australia. And what better time to open the doors on these new facilities than with the imminent release of the beautiful 3200GT coupe due for it=s Australian release in the coming months.

Lance Dixon Maserati (Melbourne) opened its doors in early March 1999 to praise and accolades. The $3 million facility has set a new benchmark in how luxury cars are sold. The entire sales facility is adorned in Maserati racing memorabilia and photographs, with Maserati=s Formula 1 glorious past relived. This is a facility that typifies the rich history of Maserati; a history that other luxury car manufacturers cannot replicate.

Prestige Formula has also opened the doors on their new $5 million facility in Adelaide. These premises are home to three of Italy=s famous car makers, Maserati, Ferrari and Alfa Romeo. It is now Adelaide=s epicentre for fine automobiles encompassing a passion that cannot be replicated by other European marques.

Herbert Appleroth, the National Sales & Marketing Manager for Maserati in Australia, described this latest phase in the re-emergence of Maserati. AThese new showrooms are indicative of the commitment to re-establish Maserati in Australia. The flair and passion injected into these new facilities sets a new standard on how luxury cars are sold and serviced. A passion that could only come from Italy. They now make other luxury car facilities look somewhat cold, clinical and intimidating. For there are people who love true emotions and Maserati designs and builds cars for these people. These people now have facilities that provide the true Maserati experience and allow them to pursue their automotive passion in absolute confidence.@

But what also differentiates these facilities are their service centres and after sales care. These dealerships feature glass viewing areas, welcoming their proud owners to watch what is probably their second biggest investment being looked after. These Maserati service facilities have also gained greatly from Ferrari=s Formula One experience, with these centres boasting the latest in computer technology. Maserati technicians can now use a hand held diagnostic computer to send information via the internet where Maserati S.p.A staff in Modena can analyse an array of vehicle data, and make diagnosis over the net B instantly. Further evidence of Maserati=s commitment to customer care.

These are only two of the latest examples adding to the developments already undertaken, and centres that are still on the architects drawing board.
