The Maserati 3200 GT has hit
the street - but this time in numbers. The car was officially released in
Australia in February of 1999 just prior to the Melbourne International
Motor Show where the car was presented to the public. The car started to
arrive in numbers (small ones) in October. As reported in the last issue
of the newsletter Cameron McConville managed to get one around Calder,
with less than delivery mileage on it, in 70 seconds at the Ferrari Club
track day last year.
Since the Ferrari track day at Calder we
have begun to welcome several new members to the club who have the
distinction of being amongst the first few to own the impressive new
Maserati 3200GT. Some existing members of the club have the car on order
and no doubt by the time you receive this newsletter may well have taken
delivery. One member managed to buy one for his wife. As President of the
Victorian chapter of Ferrari Club Australia and the owner of one of the
first Ferrari 360 Modena's to arrive in the country, it was a great
compromise.
We will look forward to seeing some of
these spectacular new cars at club events during the course of this year. |
