In keeping with his passion for fast vehicles on the
track, Scuderia Ferrari F1 test pilot Luca Badoer has taken delivery of a
new sports car. Unlike Mercedes McLaren pilot Mika Hakkinen, Luca didnt
purchase a Ferrari 360 Modena, but a Maserati 3200GT. This follows his
team mates Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barichello similar choice of
transport during the recent Melbourne Grand Prix.
With race track pace and comfort for 4 adults of
paramount importance, Luca chose a 3200GT fitted with the Australian built
BTR automatic gearbox. He believed the 370 hp twin turbo V8 engine mated
with the automatic gearbox was the perfect mode of transport for those
swift autostrada drives to Fiorano.
Luca collected the keys to his black with beige 3200GT
from Maseratis newly appointed General Manager, Mr. Marcello Pochettino
en-route to final testing of the F1 2000 before the European Grand Prix.
