during the course of the year ranging from Formula One, V8 Supercars, Historic Racing and
much much more, there are a number of events held in Melbourne that you may find of
special interest and want to attend or participate in.
The following events are listed in the Calendar of Events, but for
convenience we have listed some of the more prominent ones below:
The FIAT Car Club
Concours d'Elegance, Sunday, February 22, 2004. A display
of the best Italian cars under the FIAT umbrella. The venue is
Citizens Park, Church Street, Richmond.
Shannons Phillip Island
Classic, February 28-29, 2004 One of Australia's great
historic race meetings, held on the weekend prior to the AGP at Albert
Park Lake at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit.
Australian Grand Prix,
March 5-7, 2004. These days there are lots of options if you wish
to attend the Grand Prix. Club member Glenn Coad runs one of the best corporate
facilities at the circuit at this time of year. Further details are provided elsewhere on this site.

Melbourne Exhibition Centre, February 27 to March 8,
2004.

Grand Prix Auction, Monday, March 8,
2004 at the
Melbourne Exhibition Centre - always involves a range of rare and
desirable motor vehicles with an accent on classic and vintage.
British & European Motoring
Show - presented by the AOMC at Dandenong
Showgrounds, Greaves Reserve, Bennett Street, Dandenong on March 14,
2004.
World FIM Superbike Championship Round,
March 26 to 28, 2004 at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit
American Motoring Show - presented by the AOMC at
Dandenong Showgrounds, Greaves Reserve, Bennett Street, Dandenong on
March 28, 2004.
Historic Winton,
May 29-30, 2004 at the Winton Motor Raceway. This annual meeting
attracts the very best in historic cars and motorbikes.
Tattersall's Historic
Sandown, November 6-7, 2004. The last of the truly great
Historic Race meetings for the year. Held at the Sandown
International Motor Raceway.
VSCC Geelong Speed Trials,
November 13-14, 2004, Eastern Beach, Geelong. In addition to the
quarter-mile sprints, the event features a concours and vehicle display
- the event returned in 2002 after an absence of a couple of years.
